EP - S1E9 – Finding Her Way to God

Today I’m speaking with a colleague of mine named Ali. Ali’s life has meandered through some pretty tough territory over the years and yet, today she finds herself living a life of joy and compassion both for herself and others. What did that journey look like for her? How did she find her way? What tools and methods can she offer you to help you through those times that truly suck? Stick with us to find out.

Show Notes:

  • Ali began adulthood with a bruised perspective, trusting no one, and not making the best life choices
  • But she was embraced by a loving and supportive community
  • She became curious about faith and life purpose
  • You’re influenced by both nature and nurture
  • You may soften your prospective by seeking to empathize and have compassion for others and yourself
  • Discern the difference between your internal voices Your Truth and those that say “who do you think you are?”
  • Name what you’re thinking – pause
  • Reframe your thinking to align with your truth
  • Don’t waste your pain. Use it to inspire you and care for others
  • In times of pain, write down names of people who make you feel safe
  • Write out your truths (what is true of you – tangible or intangible)
  • Ali uses her own experiences to demonstrate the pain cycle and how to regulate our mood
